Farewell To Michelle
Today was a special day but also a sad one. It was a day where I had to say goodbye to a friend I had only just met at the start of semester but grew to know very well. I'm talking about Michelle Kee.
Here's an insight as to how I met her. I went to a lecture with Ika (blush blush) and yes it was definitely with Ika coz the subject was called "Human Genetics" hehe. A girl sat next to me asking if the seat was free. I said "no" and let her sit beside me. She then told me how she had seen me in every one of her classes and I was like "you couldn't have" because I was doing Biomed and she was taking four science elective subjects (i.e. no Genome Science). She was right though about taking all her subjects. Three out of the four subjects I took were exactly the same as hers (i.e. neuro) and the other one she took was (you guessed it) human genetics. I was attending Human Genetics lectures for other reasons hehe. So in fact me attending most of her lectures was obviously giving her the indication that I was gonna be seen a lot. I guess that's where it all started. We introduced each other and she told me how she's just here for a six month exchange before heading back to Singapore. That was six months ago and today she's heading back home. I know I found a friend in her and I know we'll still keep in touch. It was good to know you Michelle and all the best in your future endeavours.
Today was special because Kenny organised a lunch for Michelle and I thought it was a very nice gesture. We (Jono, Jasmine, Kenny and Michelle... oo and me :P) went to St Kilda and bought fish and chips at a shop owned by Rex Hunt. I forgot what it was called but I know the fish tasted really nice. After the lunch we all went our ways and I kinda got an allergic reaction to the fish. Was very itchy but nature took its course and it all went away within a couple of hours.
Overall it was an eventful day. Saying goodbye to a friend is hard but it's wondeful to know that you can get to know someone and accept that they have contributed to your life in some way.
In other news, I know I'll be up tonight to watch Argentina and Germany. I've been watching the Essendon game and they lost by 7 points. Such a close margin this time but still a loss. Now that takes our win loss ratio to 1:12 which includes 12 straight losses in a row. *sobs*. Hopefully everyone is enjoying their holidays and having heaaaaaaaaaaps of fun. Take care from Hari.
